I designed an organized exhibit catalog about one of my favorite, American creative designers and the founder of the fashion label Off-White. This catalog was created to be shown and distributed at an Off-White pop-up shop in New York city. Within a lot of his fashion items, Virgil uses a diagonally striped repetitive pattern. I wanted to repeat this same pattern throughout the entire catalog to give it the complete Off-White touch.
Within his fashion, designs, and through out his website, he strategically uses the typeface Helvetica. Virgil uses quotation marks on Helvetica set specific words and will put this text on his shoes, clothing, art, and anything else to give that particular item the true, unique Off-White feel.
I wanted to really separate the text and information from the images of him and his fashion to meet the true contrast that is seen through out his Off-White brand. I also wanted to have certain pages that highlighted just his fashion designs and also page layouts that are just images of him. I structured the catalog to have the first half to be about him and the second half to be about his fashion.
Below I also wanted to show some of the original quick concept sketches that I created before beginning the design process for the entire catalog and project.
